Obi Mbu (The Primordial House) (2021) is a 30-minute experimental dance film directed by Mikael Owunna and Marques Redd. It presents the cosmological story of how the universe emerges from the interactions of Eke-Nnechukwu, the Igbo high god, and Chukwu, Her masculine counterpart.
Chukwu engages in the work of creation by dancing in and out of a sacred pillared chamber. His secrecy inspires curiosity in his feminine counterpart Eke-Nnechukwu.
