The harp’s music represents the ideal state of social and interpersonal harmony that Ahi advocates for and serves as a metaphor for the well-tuned, respectful, and balanced dynamics that can exist between individuals when they approach their interactions with wisdom, compassion, and a deep understanding of the mutual benefits of cooperation and compromise.
The god of etiquette and manners, Ahi underscores the importance of proper conduct in all interactions, which should be filled with respect, constructive criticism, and the recognition of each individual’s divinity. This deity calls upon the Black LGBTQ+ community to embrace the social arts of decorum and diplomacy and move away from destructive behaviors toward a culture of mutual care, companionship, and cooperation.
